The negative beliefs and actions still exist in
society despite various laws passed by the jurisdiction. However, be it a
family or friends, when it comes to open up with homosexuality, you can find that
the community is bullied and judged. They are disrespected and not accepted in
society. It is the society that makes them feel that they are not considerate
and reject them with discriminatory acts.
Considering the problems faced by the LGBTQ community, Faith
Cheltenham, a renowned personality, started a drive to fight against
the discrimination that the community still faces in society. From the last 20
years, Cheltenham is keen to work for the LGBTQ community. Realizing that
change is necessary for society Cheltenham worked on the ground basis to make
people belonging to all sections of a society liberated to live respectfully no
matter whoever they are.
Cheltenham says society can’t drive any changes
till people don’t get educated with their rights and responsibilities. Thus, it
is necessary to teach people about equality because only then the LGBTQ
communicate can live freely without hesitation. This community deserves respect
for equal rights, so Cheltenham Focused on bisexual advocacy for the bisexual,
pansexual, and fluid communities in America.
Creating awareness in the society, Cheltenham spoke
at San Diego Comic-Con, the National Gay & Lesbian Task Force, Creating
Change Conference, UCLA, and Yale University in the year 1999 as an activist.
It is the constant efforts of Cheltenham that led to outreach to the LGBT and
bi-sexual community. Even in spare time, Cheltenham worked as a web/social
media producer where Sarah Ferguson, the Duchess of York, Macmillan, and
Scholastic were the core clients.
Regardless of race, religion, orientation, or
gender identity Cheltenham recognized the needs of the LGBTQ community and
worked with various NGOs to create opportunities in providing final assistance
to the group. The struggles faced by the community and the stories related to
their pride have led Cheltenham to work on various levels to create job
opportunities for them.
In the workplace, certain assumptions and jokes get
addressed to them. Considering such discrimination, Cheltenham says it needs a
common practice to make anti-discrimination and anti-harassment policies in the
organizations. Irrespective of gender identity, they can get access to equal
opportunities. It will empower them and somehow make them financially
independent.
Faith Cheltenham being a community activist, fights to provide
equality to the LGBTQ community. Creating awareness about legal rights has
helped to reform the lives of the LGBTQ community in society. Thus, accepting
this community and reacting positively towards them can help them live freely
in society. It is Cheltenham's continuous efforts and diligent work
that has encouraged them to attain equality in society.
